Felting Classes Winter 2011

January - April

Classes fill quickly. Sign up as soon as possible.

*Payment Policies

All classes must be prepaid in full to be registered in class. Checks are made to Claudia Hoffberg and mailed to 422 Colusa Ave. Kensington, CA 94707. We do not accept credit cards. Classes are non-refundable and non-transferable. (Class credit is available for cancellations made four (4) weeks prior to the beginning of class. $20 cancellation fee applies.) Semester classes are considered one class. Semester classes cannot be taken individually or refunded.

Felting Semesters
Winter 2011

Advanced Felting Semester

This is for experienced felt makers and artists who want to work regularly and deeply with a supportive group to develop their work.

The entire semester is considered one class. Classes cannot be taken individually or refunded.

First weekend of each month (5 days total)

All classes 10 am - 5 pm (extended studio hours included)

Cost: 3 month semester $450 (materials not included)

Beginning / Intermediate Felting Semester

This class is for feltmakers and artists with some experience with felting who would like to develop their own voice, learn lots more about felting, and work with a supportive group every month

The entire semester is considered one class. Classes cannot be taken individually or refunded (exceptions noted below)

Second weekend of each month (6 days total)

All classes 10 am - 5 pm (extended studio hours included)

Cost: $180 per class or 3 weekends for $450 (materials not included)

Beginning and Intermediate Felting Semester*

January - April

*These classes can be taken individually

Ruffles, Wraps, and Scarves

Sat & Sun, Jan 8-9
10 am - 5 pm
$180

We will make ruffled, rippling, dimensional, nuno felted wraps with hand-dyed silk, yarn, and wool. We will fold, bundle yarn, pre-felt, and slit and stretch to create an exciting collection of wraps.

All levels welcome

Bags and Vessles

Sat & Sun, Feb 12-13
10 am - 5 pm
$180

We will use plastic resists, folding, raising circular felt, inlaying, and felting into mesh to make a bunch of felt bags and vessels that you can use to bag up all your stuff in felt.

All levels welcome

Household Felt

Sat & Sun, March 12-13
10 am - 5 pm
$180

Rugs, placemats, tablerunners, tea cozys - It's wonderful to put felt all over your house. There will be an emphasis on color and surface design.

Color and Felt

Saturday, April 2
10 am - 5 pm

$90

Get rich beautiful color effects with multiple layers of colored wool, silk, and tencel. Learn marbling, scrumbling, dry pre-felts, and cutting back. We will make a wall piece.
